Welcome to the Canterbury, Herne Bay & Whitstable branch of CAMRA
We are a very social branch and events that are open to members and non-members alike are advertised on Meetup. Click the logo to open Meetup in a new tab
Although we produce an itinerary and rough timings for the pubs we hope to visit on our pub trails - as much as anything for the benefit of the pubs so they know when we will be descending upon them - our pub trails are very informal and people are free to join or leave at any time.
Please contact our Social Secretary, Louise, for any further information.
Our social media pages show some of the exciting things we have been up to. Click either logo above to go to our account on that platform

Not sure what sort of beer you might like?
It can be overwhelming but don't worry - CAMRA is here to help.
Our national website has a couple of pages to help you. The beer styles page shows the range of beers, and the taste profile page lets you fine-tune the choice to suit your palate. Not all beers are available in all pubs of course, but if you decide - for example - that an IPA (India Pale Ale) is to your liking the bar staff should be able to advise you which of their beers to try. Most pubs will let you have a taste before buying.
Better still, why not come and say hello at one of our pub trails (see the branch diary or Meetup pages) and we will be pleased to help you?

What is CAMRA?
CAMRA stands for Campaign for Real Ale and was founded by four real ale enthusiasts back in 1971; today we represent beer drinkers and pub-goers across the UK.
Our vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community.
Our mission is to promote and advocate:
The production, availability and consumption of quality real ale, cider and perry.
Pubs and clubs as social centres and part of the UK’s cultural heritage.
The benefits of responsible social drinking.
We do this by supporting and encouraging the beer and pubs trade by running beer festivals, lobbying Government for change, running numerous awards and developing bespoke pub finders and guides.
There’s plenty for everyone, whether you’re a dedicated campaigner, a beer connoisseur looking to learn more about beer or just want to meet up with friends in your local. Why not join the beer movement?
